Amy Goldschmidt Elected NAWIC Chapter President

At the 6/14/2011 meeting Stansell Project Manager Amy Goldschmidt was elected NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Nashville Chapter President. Amy will assume her new role beginning October 2011.
NAWIC is an organization dedicated to helping women improve their understanding of construction issues so they can excel and prosepr within the industry. NAWIC has a membership of more than 4,500 and approximately 167 chapters, with chapters in almost every U.S. state. Since 1996, NAWIC has seen its Core Purpose grow worldwide and has International Affiliation Agreements with the Canadian Association of Women in Construction, NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, NAWIC-United Kingdom and South African Women in Construction. In NAWIC’s 55 years of service to its membership, NAWIC has advanced the causes of all women in construction, from tradeswomen to business owners.

Stansell Recognized for Largest Solar Array in Mid-State

Stansell Electric Company was recently recognized in the Metro Codes newsletter for commissioning the largest solar array in mid-state. The article mentions the million dollar installation and how it is expected to produce approximately 259,000 Kilowatt hours of power in the first year of use. The article continues that the array will continue to produce power at comparable levels for the next 25 to 30 years.
Also Worth Noting:

  • The solar array consists of 832 polycrystalline panels arranged in 32 parallel rows of 26 panels each.
  • The array will produce enough clean, renewable energy to power approximately 50 average sized homes.
  • The investment is expected to pay for itself in less than seven years.

The article goes on to describe the tax incentives and grants that made this project viable for 4JLP, Stansell’s sister company and customer for this install, and how solar is currently a wise and lucrative investment for many businesses.
