National Association of Women in Construction Sponsor Company of the Year – Nashville Chapter

Each year the Nashville Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction gives a Sponsor Company of the Year Award.  This year Stansell Electric was presented this award at the Annual Awards Banquet and Officer Installation.

Amy Goldscmidt, the current president for the Nashville chapter commented, “As President of the Nashville Chapter, I could not do what I do for these women without the support of the company I work for.  Stansell Electric has given me the time, knowledge, support, and backing this past year by allowing us to have our meetings at Stansell’s offices, allowing me to attend training, and just being there for me so that I can mentor women in the construction industry.”

Amy continued, “It was my pleasure to present this award to Stansell Electric. Thank you Bobby Gaines for accepting this award on behalf of Stansell Electric. Also thanks to Jimmy, David, and Jake Stansell.  I could not do this valuable work without your support.”

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Since then the NAWIC has grown to include a diverse membership and more than 140 chapters, with chapters in almost every U.S. state and several countries.
